The business lunch rules - I finally agreed to write an article for the site and decided I would write about something that is near and dear to my heart... the business lunch. But on reflection, what can I write that hasn't been said before? Nothing I suppose. But none the less, here are my ramblings on the business lunch and some tips to make the most out of the opportunity.
Search interfaces are relatively straightforward to design, not because they're simple, but because it is mostly a solved problem. Designing a browse interface is harder, because what makes sense for one set of information probably doesn't for another. I've been thinking about a better browse interface for the last web-based 'catalogue' I designed.
I have to admit a slight dislike for Amsterdam - wrong of me I know as a foreigner in this fine Kingdom - but true all the same. What is it I don't like about the city I hear you murmuring, somewhat impassively? Well, I could say its the transient nature of its international community. I do have an issue with that to be sure. But the pinnacle of truth is harder to spot. I guess I just like the civilisation of the courtly city of the Hague and the work-happy attitudes of Europe's biggest port. It leaves little love for the city of marketeers and social benefits.
However, yesterday I experienced one of those moments that makes me comprehend the enjoyment many derive from this liberal paradise.
